"The Taste of Angkor" Cookbooks Win "Best of the Best - Cambodia" Award

"The Taste of Angkor™ and its sequel, "The Taste of Angkor 2", published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received "Best of the Best - Cambodia" at the Gourmand Awards Best of the Best 1995-2025 (30 year ), held during the Saudi Feast Food Festival on 27-30 November 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with participants from approximately 200 countries.
His Excellency PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, officially launched The Taste of Angkor in 2021 and The Taste of Angkor 2 in 2025 to further promote Cambodia's rich culinary heritage. These publications form part of the Ministry's broader culinary diplomacy efforts under the Economic Diplomacy Strategy, aimed at elevating national prestige and showcasing Khmer gastronomy to global audiences.
This latest recognition marks another milestone for the acclaimed cookbook series, as the inaugural edition received four prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, namely the "Best Asian Cookbook" Award in 2021, "Best Asian Cuisine Book" and "Heads of State/Food" Awards in 2022, and the "Best Television Award" in 2023; while the second edition recently earned the Special Award of the Jury" in June 2025.
Both cookbooks highlight classic Khmer dishes and desserts cherished across Cambodia, with many recipes simplified to make them easy to recreate using locally available ingredients around the world.
The continued success of the Taste of Angkor series is a testament to the Royal Government of Cambodia's commitment to enhancing national prestige and advancing Cambodia's vision of becoming a high-income nation by 2050 by leveraging the Kingdom's rich history and culture.
