Date: 09 March 2026
On 3 March 2026, the Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) organized a hybrid Seminar on “Strengthening the Implementation of Economic Diplomacy” at the Shangri-La Phnom Penh. The Seminar was presided over by H.E. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State and High Representative of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. More than 170 participants, including MFAIC leadership, heads of Cambodian missions abroad, diplomats, and representatives from relevant ministries and institutions attended the seminar.
The Seminar celebrated key achievements under Cambodia’s Economic Diplomacy framework in 2025, and officially launched an updated Economic Diplomacy Toolkit for missions abroad. The Toolkit features an Economic Diplomacy Dashboard, QR cards, a dedicated website, and a 2026 Calendar of Events, equipping diplomats with practical, data-driven tools to promote Cambodia more strategically and effectively. Discussions also focused on strengthening alignment between economic diplomacy efforts and national economic priorities.
